Computers - Elective Course
Subject Area Goals: To develop a mastery of computer skills in order to assist the student with academic and career goals.

820 Computer 1
S - 1/4 credit
Prerequisite: None.
Students will be learning word-processing and spreadsheet using Microsoft Word and Excel. Students will learn to format, align, find and save documents. Students will undertake to increase keyboarding speed and accuracy. Specific individual or group assignments will be given to enhance technological skills. The student will be prepared for entry level jobs requiring word processing skills.
825 Computer 2
S - 1/4 credit
Prerequisite: None.
Students will increase their word-processing skills and learn presentation skills. They will learn to make computer slide type presentations utilizing animation, scanned photos and sound (Microsoft PowerPoint). Students will also use Internet and other resources to build interesting presentations. Specific individual or group assignments may be given to enhance technological skills. Scanners, digital cameras, printers, zip drives, and CD burners may be utilized in this class.
830 Advanced Computer
S - 1/4 credit
Prerequisite: Teacher approval.
Specific individual or group assignments will be given to enhance technological skills. Students will be exposed to computer parts, spreadsheets, and web page design. Students will build presentations using clipart, photos, videos, and Internet resources. Students will exhibit self-starting skills to initiate projects utilizing the latest technology
